Prosis is proud to announce we have now been certified as a HERS-registered company.
The HERS scheme requires all employees working within a highway electrical organisation to be assessed against strict standards, proving their competence and allowing them to be certificated as an authorised person. These assessments are completed internally by a designated individual who has completed the Authorised Officer (AO) / Qualified Supervisor (QS) training.
Jon Evans (MD) said, “we are overjoyed to be been awarded HERS, this accreditation is the next progressive step for Prosis demonstrating we work to the safest and best practises as recognised in the industry, Safety is our primary focus and now that Prosis has HERS, this demonstrates to our clients our commitment to safety.”
More about the HERS scheme
The HERS scheme is an abbreviation for the “Highway Electrical Registration Scheme” in the UK. It is a national scheme designed to promote and maintain high standards in highway electrical installation work.
The scheme is managed by the Joint Industry Board (JIB) for the Electrical Contracting Industry, in conjunction with the Highways Electrical Association (HEA), is endorsed by the UK government and has been in operation since 1992.
HERS is a training and registration scheme for electrical contractors working on highways electrical installations. To become registered, an individual must complete a series of training courses and assessments, covering areas such as health and safety, electrical theory, and practical skills. Once registered, they are then able to carry out installation work on highways electrical systems in accordance with the HERS standards.
The HERS scheme covers a wide range of highway electrical installations, including street lighting, traffic signals, and signage. The scheme helps to ensure that installations are safe, reliable, and efficient, and that they meet the required technical and regulatory standards.
